The bond between Cuba and Mexico exceeds 120 years of uninterrupted relationship
July 3 (Granma) The excellent relations between Cuba and Mexico were ratified this Wednesday in a meeting between the president-elect of Mexico, Claudia Sheinbaum, and the member of the Political Bureau and foreign minister of the island, Bruno Rodríguez Parrilla, who is in the capital of the sister country, as part of the delegation present at the III Ministerial Conference on Feminist Foreign Policies.
Rodríguez Parrilla conveyed the congratulations of the First Secretary of the Central Committee of the Party and President of the Republic, Miguel Díaz-Canel Bermúdez, and the affection of the people of Cuba, as reported on the X network.
“In a fraternal atmosphere we talked about the many and intimate ties between our countries,” he wrote, and Sheinbaum, who will be the first female president in 200 years in her country, responded in the same way, gratefully.
The Minister also held a meeting with his Mexican counterpart Alicia Bárcena, as part of a meeting in which they reviewed the bilateral agenda and current regional and international issues.
The relationship between Cuba and Mexico spans more than 120 years of uninterrupted relations, dating back even before the formation of the Republic, and currently extends to sectors such as trade, investment, tourism, energy, fishing, air transport, customs, mining, education and health, which characterizes one of Cuba’s strongest relations in the area.
