Iranian friends say that there is great value in Cuba’s resistance

Havana, July 31 (Radio Havana Cuba)– Prime Minister Manuel Marrero Cruz shared, in the context of his official visit to Iran, with friends of solidarity, Cuban residents and the state mission.

***

«Cuba and Iran are two sister countries, beyond cultural differences or geographical distances, because what is common to both peoples, and is very important, is resistance. Therein lies the strength of our bond. I am very proud that today there are strong relations between the two nations. Homeland or Death!».

Sima Sadrieyeh

***

«I like Cuba very much, because I lived there for almost 14 years. I studied Veterinary Medicine. I got used to that land and got to know the Cubans, their customs, their way of life. That is why I have never been able to forget that Island. The culture is a little different, but that cannot separate two peoples. With unity and principles, a strong bond can be achieved.»

Ebrahim Babaahmad

***

«I am Cuban, and I have lived here for 32 years. I am very happy with the relations with Iran. My daughter is currently studying Dermatology in Cuba. Before that, she studied Medicine. She is a member of the Union of Young Communists and is very identified with the Cuban Revolution. The links between the two revolutions, and the bonds of friendship and solidarity, are becoming increasingly stronger.»

Lisey Brito Lara

Three statements. Just a nod to the love that Cuba inspires so far away, and everywhere. The text would be endless if we had poured here, converted into phrases, the feelings of the friends of Cuba who, these days, met at the embassy of the Greater Antilles in Iran, in the context of the official visit of the member of the Political Bureau and Prime Minister, Manuel Marrero Cruz.

Representatives of the Iran-Cuba Friendship Association and of the HOLA organization, fundamentally, spoke for more than an hour about how much the “beautiful island” and the Persian nation have in common. We are united by joys and sorrows, said someone, although not with those words. What was said really alluded to the defense of sovereignty and the aggressions of an empire.

There was also talk of help, of complementarity, of projects of common interest, for the benefit of both peoples. Voices were raised against a blockade that seeks to suffocate a country, and support for Palestine was heard, very loudly, very strongly, the resounding condemnation of Israel, which will not be able to bear the reckoning of history.

The Prime Minister briefly reviewed the complexities facing Cuba, challenged to revolutionize itself, as President Miguel Díaz-Canel says, challenged to overcome, sooner rather than later, all the obstacles that target prosperity.

He briefly recounted how much the Government is doing, hand in hand with the people, to move forward, even though the slope is steep and the results are not, in all cases, immediate.

“We will continue to support Iran. And you, keep your voice high, continue supporting us, Cuba will not let you down,” said the Prime Minister at the end.

Then, one after another, the certainties were revealed: solidarity has many faces and hands willing to offer; distances are only true when they are based on principles, and there is much value in Cuba’s resistance (Source: Presidency of Cuba)

Venezuela Implements Security Measures in Response to Far-Right Violence Plan

‘We have entered a new phase: the fight for our people’s right to tranquility, work, and production,” President Maduro said.

July 31 (teleSUR) On Tuesday, Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro, the Defense Council, the Council of State, and the High Military Command held a meeting at the Miraflores Palace, which was broadcast live for the nation.

The Bolivarian leader announced security and defense measures in response to the violence plan that the Venezuelan far right intends to implement. He also created a special commission to evaluate, with Russian and Chinese advisories, the biosecurity system and the attack on the National Electoral Council’s communication system.

Besides allocating US$10 million for the victims of the fascist commands, the Venezuelan president formed a commission to defend his country against the hate attacks broadcast in transnational media and social networks. This commision will be led by the National Assembly President Jorge Rodriguez.

“I have also ordered the deployment of a special plan within the framework of the second phase of Plan Republica so that the Bolivarian National Armed Forces (FANB) and the police develop a plan for patrolling and detaining the far-right commands,” Maduro announced, tasking Diosdado Cabello and Remigio Ceballos with developing a special plan to protect popular neighborhoods.

“A joint commission between the national government and the Attorney General’s Office will be in charge of protecting the victims of the far-right commands’ fascist violence. Unfortunately, many passersby were killed. The victims will be given legal, social, and economic support,” he said.

As part of the process of protecting the population, Vice President Delcy Rodriguez will be responsible for the opening of a window for reporting criminal and delinquent groups.

“Fascism in Venezuela will not arrive nor prevail. They intend to govern the country through delinquency and death. The oligarchy does not accept the election results,” said President Maduro, who denounced that the far right trained the members of the so-called “Small Commands” abroad.

“The July 28 elections were the definitive battle against fascism, hatred, and intolerance from those who want to carry out a coup, provoke a civil war, and create division among Venezuelans,” he stressed.

The text reads, “Venezuela: Right now, hundreds of motorcyclists are heading from Libertador Avenue towards Miraflores Palace to show their support for President Nicolas Maduro.”

The Bolivarian leader assured that the Venezuelan state is being attacked by the transnational far right, Colombian drug trafficking, opposition leaders Maria Corina Machado and Edmundo Gonzalez, and magnate Elon Musk, who want to take over Venezuela and its natural resources through lies.

“I call on the international community and the Venezuelan people to close ranks in this battle we are fighting in Venezuela against fascism and for truth and peace,” he said.

During the meeting at the Miraflores Palace, Maduro presented evidence of actions carried out by far-right militants involved in the burning of assets and facilities, highlighting that authorities detected traces of a drug in the detained individuals that U.S. soldiers typically consume during armed conflicts.

“We are dismantling a coup d’état planned by the oligarchy. Let no one be deceived! We have entered a new phase: the fight for life and for the right of our people to tranquility, work, and production,” he said.

The text states that the inclusion of Cuba «has exacerbated uncertainty and fear» of the nations that make up the international community when it comes to carrying out financial exchanges

July 30 (teleSUR) Several independent experts from the United Nations (UN) demanded the withdrawal of Cuba by the United States (USA) The United States Government added to the list of States that sponsor terrorism (SSOT), adding that the economic, commercial and financial blockade against the Caribbean nation must be lifted.

The group of experts indicated that the presence of Cuba in this list causes a conglomeration of restrictions from an economic and financial point of view which hinder the ability to resolve Cuban Government to provide assistance to its people.

The redesignation of Cuba as SSOT has added to the challenges already faced by the people of Cuba during the last three or four years, together with severe disruptions caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, natural disasters and economic and financial developments that have affected global supply chains and prices of commodities and energy,» the paper underlines.

On the other hand, the text notes that the inclusion of Cuba «has exacerbated uncertainty and fear» The Committee also notes that the Caribbean States have a role to play in the international community’s efforts to promote trade and financial exchanges with the country.

The unilateral designation of Cuba as a SSOT is contrary to the fundamental principles of international law, including the principle of the sovereign equality of States, non-intervention in the internal affairs of states and peaceful resolution of international disputes», stressed the UN expert group.

Among the damages caused by this decision, experts listed the limitation on obtaining licenses for the export of medicines and medical equipment to the country, and this consequently leads to a shortage “which affects all priority health sectors, including cardiovascular disease, pediatric oncology, oncology, obstetrics and gynecology”.

“We urge the United States Government to fully comply with all its international human rights obligations, including extraterritorial, and to take prompt action to end those measures”, they insisted.

Cuba thanks friends and compatriots for support against U.S. blockade

Havana, July 28 (RHC)– Foreign Minister Bruno Rodriguez welcomed the International Day Against the U.S. Blockade of Cuba, led by friends and compatriots of the island in several cities around the world.

The Cuban Minister of Foreign Affairs posted on the social network X images of activists against the anti-Cuban policy of the White House, and assured that in the face of injustice, the solidarity of those who march with Cuba will always shine.

According to Prensa Latina, the cry of ¡Cuba sí, Bloqueo no! was heard at the international airport in Miami, the scene where groups of patriotic emigrants joined the International Caravan against the unilateral siege of the United States on the island.  With flags and messages demanding an end to the economic, financial and commercial siege against the largest of the Antilles, the participants in the Caravan were present in front of the air terminal, details that media outlet.

The Puentes de Amor movement called for this Sunday, July 28, the holding of rallies and marches in various latitudes of the planet to demand the cessation of coercive measures against the Antillean island. U.S. solidarity organizations send more milk to Cuba

Havana, July 29 (RHC)– As part of the solidarity effort of the organizations Puentes de Amor and CodePink, another 2,750 pounds of powdered milk from the United States has arrived in Cuba..

“Without even resting from yesterday’s Caravan against the blockade, the bridge workers began to prepare in the early morning all the cargo that goes to maternal and child hospitals in Havana and other health centers in Cuba,” explained activist Carlos Lazo.

This is in addition to more than 60 thousand pounds of powdered milk that we have sent to pediatric hospitals in all the provinces of Cuba in the last two years, he recalled.

“And we will continue to open gaps in the blockade until the sanctions that punish the Cuban family are lifted,” said the coordinator of Puentes de Amor.

Just two weeks ago, both groups sent a similar amount of milk to pediatric hospitals in Artemisa, Mayabeque and a school for special education in Havana.

Despite the hate campaigns and intimidation that try to discredit and prevent Cuban emigrants from the island from contributing to the efforts of milk for Cuba, we exceeded the original idea of 40 thousand pounds, said the professor based in the city of Seattle.

He reiterated that they covered the 15 provinces of the country “and we and CodePink (a pacifist organization) will continue to do the same to help those in need, the children, the people who are in hospitals, while the blockade of the United States Government is in place.”

For Lazo, it is the duty of every patriotic emigrant and of all those who fight to lift this criminal unilateral siege imposed on the people of the Caribbean nation for more than six decades.   (Source: Prensa Latina)

Once again among us Brigada Venceremos de Solidaridad con Cuba

Brigada Venceremos de Solidaridad con Cuba

By María Josefina Arce

Once again among us is the Venceremos Brigade of Solidarity with Cuba, which since its creation 55 years ago has accompanied the Cuban people in their just struggle against the blockade imposed by the United States more than six decades ago.

The Brigade, made up of citizens from about twenty US states, travels to Cuban territory every year to show its support for the largest of the Antilles, which is the object of an undeclared war by Washington.

Despite the prohibitions imposed by the criminal economic siege, threats and pressure, the first contingent arrived in our country in 1969 to get to know the Cuban reality, distorted by the great American press.

From that moment on, they would bring the truth about the Cuban Revolution and the obstacles that the blockade, condemned year after year by the UN General Assembly, represented for the progress of the Caribbean nation to other citizens of the North.

One of their main demands is the return of the territory illegally occupied by the United States in Guantanamo Bay since 1903, against the will of the Cuban government and people.

Now they have taken up the worldwide call for Cuba to be removed from the arbitrary list of countries allegedly sponsoring terrorism compiled by the United States of America.

And, as usual, the members of the Brigade visit historical sites, share with Cubans and also contribute to productive tasks and the repair of educational, health or social centers of great value.

Every year, the Venceremos Brigade sends a message of love and solidarity from the soil of the United States, where every day more and more people reject the genocidal blockade and support the normalization of relations between the two nations for the benefit of both peoples.

The Venceremos Brigade, the first to be founded internationally to express solidarity with Cuba, has shown throughout these decades that the Cuban people are not alone and have loyal friends on U.S. soil.
