Cuba and Mexico ratify historical brotherhood

President Miguel Díaz-Canel expressed his gratitude for Mexico’s continued support in Cuba’s fight against the blockade imposed by the United States government.

Havana, Oct 25 (Prensa Latina) Cuba and Mexico reaffirmed their historic brotherhood today during a meeting between President Miguel Díaz-Canel and Senator Alberto Anaya, founder and national coordinator of the Labor Party.

According to the Cuban Presidency website, the cordial exchange was also attended by the Secretary of Organization of the Cuban Communist Party (PCC), Roberto Morales, and the head of its International Relations Department, Emilio Lozada.

The president sent warm greetings to Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum and former President Andrés Manuel López Obrador, the source said.

Both statesmen are friends who have been extraordinary with Cuba and have always stood by the world’s just causes, the Cuban head of state emphasized.

He highlighted the importance of this visit by the Labor Party, a Mexican political organization founded on December 8, 1990.

The first secretary of the PCC Central Committee also noted that the work between the two Parties is being strengthened.

Diaz-Canel also considered that “a new moment has begun” with the Interparty Exchange and Cooperation Agreement, signed this Saturday in Havana by the Secretary of Organization of the Central Committee, Roberto Morale, and the Mexican politician.

He also expressed his gratitude for Mexico’s continued support in Cuba’s fight against the blockade imposed by the United States government.

“You are our brothers. You are home,” the president said, with the affection of true friends, as quoted by the presidential website.

For his part, Senator Alberto Anaya told the Cuban President about the extensive agenda of activities carried out in recent days in Cuba and thanked him for the attention provided to the delegation he is leading during this visit.

The founder of the Labor Party referred to the “cordiality, camaraderie, and brotherhood” displayed by the hosts, the statement details.

The meeting reaffirmed the importance of continuing to strengthen relations of friendship and cooperation, Anaya noted.
