Belarusian students show solidarity with Cuba

Minsk, June 20 (Prensa Latina) Students and professors from various Belarusian universities demonstrated their support for Cuba at a rally held at the House of Solidarity in Minsk, the Caribbean country’s ambassador to the Slavic nation, Santiago Pérez, announced today.

According to the diplomat who spoke to Prensa Latina on Saturday, the students condemned the policy of economic strangulation undertaken by the current US administration against Cuba.

The solidarity rally was attended by students and professors from the Presidential Academy, and from the faculties of History, International Relations and Economics of the Belarusian State University, and from the Polytechnic University, as well as directors of the Society of Friendship with Cuba.

The Cuban ambassador also met with participants in the event, thanking Belarusian authorities for their support of the Cuban people’s struggle. He also condemned the series of crippling measures affecting the small Caribbean nation’s economy.
