Italy highlights anniversary of media project in support of Cuba

Rome, June 15 (Prensa Latina) With a special edition of the media program ItaliaxCuba, the second anniversary of this initiative aimed at combating, with the truth, the disinformation campaigns that are currently being carried out against the Cuban Revolution was celebrated in this country.

Marco Papacci, president of the National Association of Italy-Cuba Friendship (Anaic), highlighted the role that this news channel plays in the current media battle during his speech on the program the day before.

That is where the importance of ItaliaxCuba lies, a project of Anaic whose first broadcast on the Youtube platform and other social networks took place on June 14, 2024, he emphasized.

During that broadcast, https://www.youtube.com/@italiaxcuba, tribute was also paid to Che on the 98th anniversary of his birth, as well as to the Prensa Latina News Agency, which will celebrate its 67th anniversary on June 16.

Those participating in the special program included the president of the Cuban Institute of Friendship with the Peoples (ICAP), Fernando González, and the political advisor of the Cuban embassy in Italy, Damián Delgado, second head of the diplomatic mission, who recognized the importance of this initiative.

Also participating were Walter Persello and María Merlini, directors of Anaic; Oscar Redondo, Prensa Latina’s correspondent in Italy; and Indira Pineda, representing associations of Cuban nationals residing in this European country, among others.

Italy and Cuba currently play a very important role in “a war that is not fought with traditional weapons, but with words, images and ideas,” said Papacci, who emphasized that “the truth is our most powerful weapon.”
