Cuban Foreign Minister Bruno Rodríguez Parrilla details the intimidating messages sent by the Trump Administration against other nations to prevent the illegal US blockade from being condemned

Cuban Foreign Minister Bruno Rodríguez Parrilla denounced on Wednesday that the United States government is carrying out a brutal deployment of extreme pressure against numerous states to force them to change their position regarding the draft resolution against the economic, commercial and financial blockade they imposed on Cuba, particularly with intense coercive efforts by Secretary of State Marco Rubio.
He recalled that the draft resolution to end the US blockade against Cuba will be debated in the United Nations General Assembly on October 27 and 28. What is unprecedented in this case, the Cuban Foreign Minister stated, is the extreme intensification of the US blockade. It will be the first time the UN General Assembly has spoken out against the energy blockade and the collective punishment against our country , which has caused serious humanitarian damage. In addition to the energy blockade, all Cuban commercial operations are being blocked , he noted, as part of a policy to deliberately inflict planned damage and destabilize the country by generating suffering and despair .
He explained that the U.S. has been engaged in efforts to coerce other governments for months. He displayed several documents that attest to intimidating messages against these nations , which contain lies such as the claim that the U.S. embargo is legal and that the U.S. permits trade with Cuba.
He explained that another document contains a list of direct threats of sanctions to pressure sovereign states. These include coercion through punitive tariffs , restrictions on officials and their families , threats to interfere in electoral processes and destabilize those countries, and threats to harm their international trade, among other things .
Another document used by the U.S. tries to implicate Cuba in the Ukrainian conflict , which I categorically deny, he said.
It is surprising , Rodríguez Parrilla remarked, that the U.S. is using a Latin American country as a front to carry out this nefarious plan . We have the speech they will use, written in Washington. They even go so far as to suggest humanitarian effects of the blockade, but blame Cuba for them, thus reversing the roles and blaming the victim.
Rodríguez Parrilla asserted that these maneuvers constitute a recognition of the international isolation of the United States in its genocidal policy against Cuba . According to the report presented by Cuba to the United Nations, the accumulated damages over six decades of this policy amount to $ 178,700,500,000 at current prices.
The total amount of damages to Cuba resulting from the blockade in the period from March 1, 2025 to February 28, 2026 , shows a record figure of 8,083,300,000 million dollars.
