
Havana, April 18 (Prensa Latina) Cuban President Miguel Díaz-Canel today called for strengthening bilateral ties with Gabon and congratulated the African nation’s president-elect, General Brice Clotaire Oligui Nguema.
The Cuban head of state congratulated the dignitary elected in the presidential elections of April 12 and reiterated “the will to deepen bilateral relations of brotherhood and cooperation between our peoples and governments.
General Nguema, 50, led a military junta that overthrew former Gabonese ruler Ali Bongo, winning over 90 percent of the electorate.
In his acceptance speech, he asserted that he would govern for all Gabonese people and restore constitutionality.
