Moscow, March 19 (Prensa Latina) Russia is currently the third largest source of tourists to Cuba, confirmed the First Deputy Minister of Tourism of the Caribbean nation, Jorge Alberto García, here today.
During the first two days of the Moscow International Tourism Fair, Mitt 2025, tour operators, agencies, travel agents, and airlines from the Eurasian giant have demonstrated their marked interest in Cuba, which is evident in Russia’s current third position as a source nation, the Cuban deputy head of tourism emphasized to Prensa Latina.

The official added that another topic discussed with their Russian counterparts is promoting the benefits of the Caribbean island’s entertainment industry, with the goal of promoting its exposure and dissemination through specialized communications companies, as well as in Russian media outlets.
García also praised the industry’s crucial role in the development and strengthening of the Cuban economy, expressing the commitment of the Ministry of Tourism and its entities to achieving customer satisfaction in order to grow operations, thereby impacting the country’s revenue.

In this regard, Cristina León, Tourism Counselor at the Cuban Embassy in Russia, outlined another measure to maintain the rapid arrival of Russians to Cuba, especially in the eastern part of the country, particularly Santiago de Cuba.
The diplomat added that the so-called Hero City, the cradle of the Revolution, boasts a rich cultural and social heritage that will further attract clients from the Eurasian giant, which in 2024 extended its presence in Caribbean territory throughout the year.
León argued that MITT 2025 is also a showcase for inviting hundreds of attendees to participate in the next edition of the Cuban International Tourism Fair, scheduled for April 30 to May 3 in Havana.
The 31st Russian International Tourism and Hospitality Exhibition will run until March 20, with the goal of enabling the more than 700 companies present to offer their best products to the Russian market through unique business programs.
