Mexico City, June 19 (Prensa Latina) Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum today described the economic and social transformations approved by Cuba as important.
“It is an important change, a decision that Cubans are making to open up their economy, and they are doing so for investment and even calling on Cubans who left the island a long time ago to invest in Cuba,” the president said.
During her usual meeting with the media, the head of the Executive considered it relevant “to recognize what the Government of Cuba is doing together with its people.”
“Mexican businesspeople who wish to invest in Cuba can also approach the Ministry of Foreign Affairs if they want to have any special contact,” he added. The National Assembly of People’s Power (parliament) of the Caribbean nation yesterday approved the transformation of the current economic and social model to guarantee the preservation of its socialist system in the face of the aggressive policies of the United States.
The deputies gave the green light to 176 proposals, grouped into 23 axes, aimed at boosting the economy amid the complex situation generated by the unprecedented intensification of the Washington blockade, which includes the energy embargo and the military threat.
The transformations impact forms of ownership, business management, foreign investment, foreign trade, tourism, the productive and service sectors, among others, vital to rescuing and preserving the social achievements of the Revolution.
Also to ensure the country’s self-determination, sovereignty, and independence.
