Havana, Jul 10 (Prensa Latina) The government of Vietnam gave Cuba a cultural wealth show exhibited by members of the Vietnam Contemporary Art Theatre.
With this gala of songs, dance and folk music illustrating the distinctive features of the culture of the northern, central and southern regions, Vietnamese and Cuban people on Tuesday celebrated in Havana almost 60 years since the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries (1960- 2020).
Vietnam’s Vice President Dang Thi Ngoc Thinh, on an official visit to Cuba, attended the cultural performance at Teatro Nacional de Cuba’s Covarrubias hall, where a photographic exhibition of places of great natural, economic, environmental, tourist and cultural attractions received the public.
Hairstyles, costumes, national hats and other garments typical of the Asian country were exhibited by dancers, musicians and vocalists who sang in their native language, but also Spanish songs such as ‘Cuba que linda es Cuba’ (Cuba, How Beautiful is Cuba) and ‘Rico vacilon,’ authentic pieces from the Caribbean nation.
The gala was designed to balance Cuban songs such as ‘Habanera tu,’ ‘Siboney’ and ‘Guantanamera,’ with ancient Vietnamese melodies.
