Venezuela Promotes Union of Latin American, Caribbean Peoples

Caracas, Nov 8 (Prensa Latina) Venezuelan Foreign Minister Jorge Arreaza pleaded on Thursday the union of the peoples of Latin America and the Caribbean, in the face of the onslaught of attacks by the United States Government on the sovereign countries of the region.

On his arrival in Nicaragua to participate in the 17th Ordinary Meeting of the Political Council of the Bolivarian Alliance for the Peoples of Our America-People’s Trade Treaty (ALBA-TCP), Arreaza stressed the need for integration of the countries of the region, the Foreign Ministry reported in a press release.

We want to ratify that at times when imperialism seems to be hegemonizing processes, the Bolivarian Alliance has to unite and not just to resist,’ the Venezuelan Foreign Minister told reporters.

He also commented that the meeting will allow an analysis of the current regional context and the perspectives for 2019.

The high-level meeting, which brings together the body’s foreign ministers, will define actions and lines of work for the next two years from the Executive Secretariat of ALBA-TCP.
