Russia Reaffirms at UN Rejection of U.S. Blockade against Cuba

United Nations, Oct 31 (Prensa Latina) Russia will vote again at the United Nations against the economic, commercial and financial blockade imposed by the United States on Cuba, reiterated on Wednesday the permanent representative of the Eurasian country, Vasily Nebenzya.

The diplomat pointed out that Russia strongly condemns the U.S. blockade against Cuba and is in favor of its immediate and complete abolition.

The General Assembly discusses a draft resolution on ‘The need to end the economic, commercial and financial blockade imposed by the United States of America against Cuba’.

The majority of the representatives of the countries participating in the meeting support the document and recognize the need to lift the sanctions.

Nebenzya asked all present to show their solidarity with the Cuban people in their struggle for equal conditions for economic and social development and to vote to adopt the resolution.

Both chambers of the Federal Assembly of Russia adopted, as in previous years, appeals to the General Assembly and the parliaments of the member states of the UN, to once again condemn the destructive course of Washington, according to the declaration.

These texts are distributed as documents of the UN General Assembly under ‘Agenda Item 43,’ he clarified.
