Russia Demands End to U.S. Policy on Cuba

Moscow, Ap 19 (Prensa Latina) Russia demanded an end to the irrational and totally destructive policy by the United States against Cuba, the head of the Latin America Department at the Russian Foreign Ministry, Alexander Shetnin, said today.

‘What is happening now in relations between United States and Cuba is irrational’, the diplomat told local media, which highlighted the election of Miguel Diaz-Canel as the president of the Councils of States and of Ministers, after a vote in the Cuban Parliament.

Over the past 100 years, we have only seen Washington’s sanctions, blockade and limitations on relations between the two States, but this policy has shown its obvious inconsistency, Shetinin pointed out.

The official’s statements came amid the broadcast in Russia of the voting results at the People’s Power National Assembly of Cuba, where the members of the Council of State and its vice-presidents were also elected.

That way, the TV channels Rossia 1, NTV and Pervi, the daily news Ria Novosti, TASS and other media outlets broadcast the latest events in Cuba’s Parliament.
