President Diaz-Canel Celebrates in Russia Cuba’s Victory at UN

Moscow, Nov 1 (Prensa Latina) The President of Cuba, Miguel Diaz-Canel, celebrated on Thursday in this capital the victory of his country at the UN by achieving virtually unanimous support in his case against the economic, financial and commercial blockade imposed by the United States.

In statements to the press at the residence of the Cuban diplomatic mission in this capital, the Cuban Head of State assured that this is a day of victory.

We have just arrived in Moscow, where, by the way, the people who first helped us against the blockade (imposed almost 60 years ago) live. Since arriving we had the pleasant news of the overwhelming victory in the UN, he said. Not only did Cuba get the victory, but the United States was defeated 10 times in one, added the President in reference to the rejection in the highest international body to draft amendments to the Cuban initiative against the U.S. siege that was put to the vote. Once again the world recognized the Cuban cause, and defended the island because it knows it is fair, added Diaz-Canel.

At a time like this you think of Fidel Castro, Raul Castro, the people and the Cuban Revolution, because thanks to them this victory was possible, he said.
