Mental Health and Stress Close Psychology Congress in Cuba

Havana, May 18 (Prensa Latina) The 8th Latin American Congress of Health Psychology, ALAPSA 2018, is concluding today in this capital after five intense days of exchange of experiences and the specialty’s working methods.

Delegates from more than 10 countries are debating today at the Conference Center in Havana the role of stress in people’s mental disorders, as well as mental health at work.

Today’s program also includes the analysis of the speech by caregivers of dependent people and health psychology in the world of contradictions.

The Latin American Prize for Health Psychology will be awarded during the closing ceremony.

According to the president of the organizing committee, Olga Esther Infante, there are many contributions that Latin American psychology offers to contribute to the welfare of our peoples, but there are still many questions to answer.

Prior to ALAPSA 2018, organized by the Cuban Society of Health Psychology, pre-congress courses were held in the presence of delegates from Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Ecuador, Mexico, Peru, Puerto Rico, Uruguay and Spain.
