Maduro Designates 2018 Year of Economic Revolution

Caracas, Aug 27 (Prensa Latina) President Nicolas Maduro designated 2018 as Year of the Economic Revolution, and assured that important changes will be implemented as of today in the Financial Recovery Program.

The head of State posted on his Twitter account that the economic growth plan came to bring stability and happiness to Venezuelans, while exhorting: ‘We should make 2018 the Year of the Economic Revolution of growth, prosperity and stability for the happiness of our people.’

The details of dates, mechanisms and procedures will be offered during this week so the Venezuelans can enjoy the direct gasoline price subsidy after the successful completion of the National Transport Census (CNT), he said.

‘We will try, rehearse,’ the president stated, and thanked the people for the wide participation in the registration process for the vehicles that ended the face-to-face period this weekend.

‘More than three million vehicles, and 2,336,000 people owning several means of transportation are already registered in the last day of the process,’ Maduro said.

The census will allow implementing the direct subsidy to Venezuelan drivers, through the Carnet de la Patria (The Homeland Card), a social protection mechanism, so they can receive the benefit during the application of the new international gasoline price system that will be implemented in the country, he observed.
