Havana, May 1 (Prensa Latina) The Minister for Foreign Affairs and Communities of Cape Verde, Luis Filipe Lopes Tavares, will pay an official visit to Cuba from May 2 to 5, reported the Foreign Ministry.
According to the source, the also Minister of Defense of the African nation will meet on May 3 with the Cuban Minister of Foreign Affairs, Bruno Rodriguez.
Days before, Tavares received the Cuban ambassador in Cape Verde, Alejandro F. Diaz, on such encounter they discussed bilateral relations.
Also, both sides talked about the progress in cooperation links, especially in the areas of health, sports, agriculture and culture, as well as the potentialities for their development.
Last February, the member of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba, Mercedes Lopez Acea, visited Cape Verde as part of a tour of the African continent.
During her stay in Praia, Lopez Acea was welcomed by the President of that country, Jorge Carlos de Almeida, with whom she agreed to ratify the will to continue strengthening the relations of friendship and cooperation between both countries.
