Cuban Vice President Begins Visit to Russia

St. Petersburg, Russia, Sep 19 (Prensa Latina) The Vice President of the Cuban Council of State, Beatriz Johnson Urrutia arrived in this northern Russian city to participate in the 2nd Eurasian Women’s Forum, sponsored by the Federation Council (Russian Senate).

John Urrutia is scheduled a meeting with the Governor of St. Petersburg, Georgui Poltavchenko tomorrow, as part of an official program, within the framework of the aforementioned forum that takes place in the Palace of Tavrichesk, in the center of this city.

On that day she will make an intervention in the plenary session of the event with the theme ‘Women for social security and sustainable development.’

In addition, the Cuban official will hold a meeting with the vice-president of the Council of the Federation Ilyas Umajanov and at night, will attend a reception of the highest leader of the Russian Senate, Valentina Matvienko, host of the event.

The Cuban vice president also plans to participate in the panel ‘Women Governors: Strategies of effectiveness and development of the territories.’
