Havana, Oct 27 (Prensa Latina) Cuban rapper Telmary Diaz, nominated for the 2018 Latin Grammy Awards, has confirmed her attendance at the awards ceremony scheduled for November 15 in Las Vegas, United States.
In the artist’s opinion, it is a privilege to represent Cuban music at an event of this level, especially when it is the first time Cuba has been included in the Alternative Music category.
‘It was really a surprise and it still is because I think it’s quite difficult for a Cuban woman, a rapper, with a Cuban record label to have the possibility of being nominated for a Latin Grammy,’ she said.
Diaz also thanked the Colibri recording company, producer of the CD entitled Fuerza Arara (Force Arara) and winner of the Cubadisco 2018 award in the Urban Music section.
To celebrate this nomination, the recognized rap exponent in Cuba, invited the public to her next presentation La Musica Puede (Music Can) on October 31 at El Patio de Baldovina (Baldovina Courtyard) located in the Casa del Alba Cultural (House of Cultural Dawn), in Havana.
The 41-year-old artist will perform with singer-songwriter Diego Gutierrez, who also won Cubadisco for Best Fusion Album with the phonogram Palante el mambo( EGREM), and was nominated for a Latin award in the Tropical Fusion category.
