Caracas, Aug 1 (Prensa Latina) The head of the International Relations Department of the Central Committee of the Cuban Communist Party, Jose Ramon Balaguer, met here with the directive of the Venezuela-Cuba Mutual Solidarity Movement, informed today the general coordinator of the group, Yhonny Garcia.
After participating in the Plenary Session of the 4th Congress of the United Socialist Party of Venezuela (PSUV), Balaguer and the Secretary General of the Cuban Workers’ Union, Ulises Guilarte De Nacimiento, noted the work carried out by the solidarity project in order to deepen the ties of friendship between the two peoples.
The Caribbean leader expressed his satisfaction with the results of the conclave of the Venezuelan socialists and recognized the enthusiasm of the delegates, the importance given to unity and the economic issue as fundamental elements for the advance of the Bolivarian Revolution.
He also appreciated the interventions of Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro, who highlighted the importance of unity and the economic measures implemented to revert the impacts of the right-wing economic war against Venezuela.
On the other hand, Guilarte affirmed the workers’ role is strategic to increase national production in order to strengthen the macroeconomic measures announced by the Executive for the development of the South American country.
The Cuban leaders stressed the importance of the special attention the Venezuelan government gives to young people, the participation of women in all tasks and the contribution of popular control to the permanent fight against bureaucratism and corruption.
Balaguer insisted the Latin American peoples must be aware that imperialism has not overcome the crisis of 2008 and is in a dangerous process to try to maintain its control and impose the laws of the United States on the world.
He also affirmed the economic proposals promoted by the Venezuelan head of state will succeed in increasing development, as long as ‘the creation of wealth is impregnated with solidarity to ensure transformations are sustainable and do not become instruments of capitalism’.
