Yaren, Aug 29 (Prensa Latina) A Cuban medical team today arrived in this city in the Central Pacific, where it was received by the Permanent Secretary of Nauru’s Foreign Ministry, Michael Aroi.
The group is made up of 15 physicians from different specialties, including oncology, nephrology, psychiatry, endocrinology and internal medicine.
According to Cuba’s Foreign Ministry, the brigade’s members will begin their work ‘soon’.
Nauru is a small Pacific Island State, with a population of just over 10,000 inhabitants.
Cuban doctors has been in Kiribati and Vanuatu, small island states located in the South Pacific, and has also been in Solomon Islands, Tuvalu and Fiji.
On the other hand, dozens of young people from islands in this region study in health universities in the Caribbean country.
