Cuban Historian Received in Sweden

Stockholm, Sep 6 (Prensa Latina) The Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs of Sweden, Annika Soder, today received Cuban historian and essayist Eusebio Leal, who made an official working visit in this country.

The meeting was focused on the relations between the two countries and issues of mutual interest, and was attended by the Cuban Ambassador Rosario Navas and the head of the Swedish diplomatic mission in Havana, Jonas Loven.

The Historian of Havana, and a deputy of the National Assembly (Parliament) of Cuba also shared moments of talk with the director general of the Swedish Foreign Ministry, Teppo Taurinem, in a meeting held in the morning.

Leal also gave a lecture at the Latin American Institute of Stockholm University on the process of restoration of Old Havana, a work of great social and cultural value.

The colloquium was attended by the director of the entity, Andres Rivarola, and a large auditorium, built by Swedish, and Latin American teachers, as well as diplomatic personnel accredited in this capital, among others.

The renowned cuban intellectual will be in Sweden until September 12th and will develop a comprehensive program that includes tours of cultural institutions and a student, in addition to meetings with politicians and solidarity groups.
