United Nations, Oct 28 (Prensa Latina) Cuba is today an example for the world, because in addition to all the benefits achieved for its people, despite having limited resources, it offers its solidarity to many countries.
Guillermo Magallón, director of the Association of Agricultural Workers of the Western United States, told Prensa Latina these words, while highlighting the importance of the exhibition ‘Cuba is building its future,’ located in the Curved Wall of the UN building in New York.
“These images show what Cuba does, despite the blockade imposed by the United States, a country where there are 11 million farm workers who live in poverty,” he said.
“Many sectors in this country support Cuba because it fights for its people, has eliminated extreme poverty despite having limited resources, while in other places including the U.S. poverty and inequality grows,” he added.
“As the exhibition at the UN shows, the Cuban doctors offer care to several thousand people in the world, even here in the United States there are doctors who were trained for free in that country,” he stressed.
In Magallón’s opinion, criticism towards Cuba is often absurd; it is hypocritical, and it is necessary to give more information to the U.S. people so that they know the truth.
The exhibition ‘Cuba is building its future’ will run until November 2, in the context of the vote on October 31 at the UN General Assembly to call for an end to the U.S. blockade against the island.
