Havana, Apr 3 (Prensa Latina) About 30 films will compete as of today at the 17th Young Exhibition of the Cuban Film Institute (ICAIC), the most expected event for young filmmakers of the island.
Running until April 8, the event hosts 14 fiction films, 12 documentaries and three animations.
Marcos Diaz, Rosa Maria Rodriguez, Luis Ernesto Doñas, Janis Reyes, and Alejandro Alonso are among the already known young filmmakers due to their participation in previous editions.
The Charles Chaplin and 23 y 12 movie theaters, the Charlot room, the Terence Piard room and the Fresa y Chocolate Cultural Center will screen the films in competition, together with the international cycles.
The program also includes lectures, keynote speeches, exhibitions, the Making Cinema section, and tributes to the Cuban cartoon, and the film and video workshop at the Hermanos Saiz Association.
