Havana, Sep 7 (Prensa Latina) With the view of strengthening bilateral cooperation, Nigerian Minister of Science and Technology, Ogbonnaya Onu, visited the Cuban Agency for Nuclear Energy and Advanced Technologies (Aenta), highlighted the institution today in a statement.
Like Cuba, Nigeria believes it is necessary to move from an economy of resources to one of knowledge and that this collaboration can be very beneficial for both countries, said the official of the African nation.
Onu was aware, in the voice of the acting president of the Aenta, Ivan Padron, of the main activities developed by the scientific center of the island in nuclear applications and technologies such as lasers, renewable energies and studies on the impact of climate change.
The Nigerian official thanked the reception received and expressed his admiration for Cuba’s achievements, the text points out.
Since November 11, 2015, Onu assumed the position of Minister of Science and Technology of his country. He is currently working to promote research and innovation in Nigeria.
