Matanzas, Cuba, Apr 20 (Prensa Latina) The 2nd Matanzas Jazz Festival dedicated its second day to voices with the performance of important vocal groups in this western province, such as the Chamber Choir and Conjunto Nuestra América.
Today, the event will close with luxury night performances by Bobby Carcassés with the group Ákana, Alberto Lescay and his group, as well as a Jam session by the group Mestizaje.
Friday’s program began with a master percussion class by teachers Enrique Plá, an institution in Cuban drums, and Miguel Angel ‘Miguelón’ Rodríguez, president of that event.
The festival opened with performances by the Afrocuba folkloric group, and a recital by the local Concert Band.
The main venue is the José White Concert Hall in the 300-year-old city, with special programs in the Colonial Patio of the Hermanos Saíz Association.
