Caracas, Jul 15 (Prensa Latina) The Vice President of Social and Territorial Development, Aristobulo Isturiz, asked the United Nations on Tuesday for support so that the United States and its allies can unblock Venezuela’s international bank accounts.
In statements to the press, the leader specified that the lifting of the economic, commercial and financial blockade of Washington against the South American country would allow the government to continue with the development of social policies for the benefit of the people.
Isturiz denounced that the nation currently has around 60 billion dollars blocked by international banks as a consequence of unilateral and coercive measures.
He explained that all the elements were exposed in the social report delivered to the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights, Michelle Bachelet, who in the final report of the visit did not know them.
The Minister of Education also stressed that despite the aggressions of U.S. President Donald Trump’s government, the country has fulfilled all its tasks.
‘We have just finished the Vaccination Day of the Americas, where 92 percent of the expected children were attended,’ the official said.
In view of this situation, he said that President Nicolas Maduro is fostering the economic recovery program and does not stop watching over the protection of Venezuelans.
The highest representative of the Social Cabinet thanked the alliances with Turkey, China, Russia, Nicaragua, Iran and Cuba, whose governments facilitate through agreements the purchase of medicines, food, school supplies, among other inputs.
