President of Cuba Highlights Role Youth in Defense of the Revolution

Havana, Jan 3 (Prensa Latina) The president of Cuba, Miguel Diaz-Canel, highlighted on Thursday the role of youth in the defense and continuity of the Revolution led by Fidel Castro (1926-2016).

In a message on Twitter, Diaz-Canel highlighted the participation of the new generations of Cubans who symbolically make the journey of the Caravan of Freedom.

As 60 years ago, after the proclamation of the triumph of the Cuban Revolution, the Caravan of Freedom advances, led today by our young people. They are continuity, future and renewed revolutionary force, the President wrote in his account @DiazCanelB.

In another message, the Head of State highlighted the humanist vocation of the Revolution that triumphed on January 1, 1959.

Greetings to those who travel again the path of the heroes, from Santiago to Havana. That ‘the Cuban Revolution is forever a Revolution of young people and at the same time, a Socialist Revolution of the humble, by the humble and for the humble,’ he stressed.

The Caravan of Freedom is advancing in eastern Cuba after leaving the city of Santiago de Cuba with a load of young people who reedit the starring fighters led by Fidel Castro six decades ago.

From the intersection of Avenida de los Libertadores and Calle Trinidad, in Santiago de Cuba, the victorious march that will travel the Cuban geography until January 8th has started.
