HAVANA, Cuba, Oct 24 (acn) President Danilo Medina received in his office on Friday the courtesy call of Cuban singer-songwriter Silvio Rodriguez. Accompanying the artist were his wife, Niurka Gonzalez and the Culture Minister of the Dominican Republic, Jose Antonio Rodriguez.
In a cordial and relaxed atmosphere, the head of state and the well-known singer-songwriter spoke about a variety of aspects, among them the historic-cultural relations of the Dominican Republic and the Republic of Cuba.
Silvio Rodriguez is in the country to participate in the opening of the program of activities to celebrate the 250th anniversary of the founding of the city of Bani, where he will offer a free concert on October 25, the day when the Regional Book Fair Peravia 2014, dedicated to late Bani journalist Rafael Herrera, will begin.
The concert will have Dominican Maridalia Hernandez as Silvio’s soloist counterpart in the artistic presentation, to take place at the Luis Maria Herrera Stadium of Bani.
