On 13 February, the World Radio Day will be celebrated as deserved recognition, disclosed a day under the name of Radio in times of disaster and emergency occurs.
An announcement by the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization, UNESCO, noted that radio has proven useful in immediate post-disaster situations, as well as prevention and recovery times.
The organization stressed that communication tool, accessible, available, with live coverage and ability to involve the audience, plays a key role in preventing and mitigating disasters and reducing their impact on the population.
The Director General of UNESCO, Irina Bokova, said about the day, that broadcasting is the primary means of survival in any context.
