Mexico Convenes 23rd National Meeting of Solidarity with Cuba

Mexico, Sep 19 (Prensa Latina) The 23rd National Meeting of Solidarity with Cuba was convened for September 22 and 23 in Toluca, capital of Mexico state, it was reported today.

The Cuba-Toluca Solidarity Committee, of the Mexican capital, launched yesterday the call along with the Mexican Movement of Solidarity with the island (MMSC), from which it is a member.

The motto of the forum is ‘For solidarity among our peoples and the validity of Fidel, Marti and Heredia’s thoughts’. The event will be held at the Ignacio Manuel Altamirano Auditorium, of the National Union of Education Workers, with delegates from many Mexican states.

Lawmaker Fernando Gonzalez Llort, president of the Cuban Institute of Friendship with the Peoples (ICAP) and Hero of the Republic of Cuba, will attend the meeting as a special guest. He will give a keynote speech on ‘The updating of the Cuban economic, political and social model’.

Another speaker will be Cuban ambassador here, Pedro Nuñez Mosquera, whose paper is entitled ‘From Marti to Fidel, a single Revolution’.

‘Jose Maria Heredia and Heredia: Emblem of the Mexico-Cuba ties’, will be in charge of Dr. Onoria Cespedes, research professor at the Faculties of Humanities of the National Autonomous University of Mexico.

Delegates to the event will work in working groups on issues such as: ‘Organization of the Movement of Solidarity with Cuba at local, national level and Action Plan’; ‘Cuba and the achievements of the Revolution in Human development’; and ‘Youth: solidarity with Cuba and Our America’.
