Lopez Obrador is set to become Mexico’s first leftist leader in decades after he won a landslide victory in July’s presidential election.

Oct 27 (teleSUR) At least 15 heads of state have been invited to attend the presidential inauguration of Mexico’s Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador in December, including Venezuela President Nicolas Maduro and Bolivia’s Evo Morales, the president-elect’s pick to be foreign minister confirmed Friday.

Marcelo Ebrard, who is set to serve as Lopez Obrador’s foreign minister, said in a series of post to Twitter Friday Maduro and Morales are among the list of confirmed presidents to attend the December 1 swearing-in ceremony.

Other Latin American leaders including Colombia’s right-wing president Ivan Duque and Paraguay’s president Mario Abdo Benitez have accepted invitations to attend.

United States Vice President Mike Pence has also confirmed his attendance, as well as Jeremy Corbyn, Britain’s opposition Labour leader, whose wife is Mexican.

Lopez Obrador is set to become Mexico’s first leftist leader in decades after he won a landslide victory in July’s presidential election.
