International Relations Seminar Concludes in Havana

Havana, Apr 27 (Prensa Latina) Researchers, ambassadors and experts from several countries will conclude today the debates of the 13th Seminar on International Relations, held since March 25 in this capital to deepen on geopolitics and the ties among states.

More than 250 delegates, including Cubans and foreigners from Latin America, Europe, Africa and the Middle East, are participating in the meeting, and the scientific program includes almost 200 papers.

The central debates since Wednesday dealt with issues such as the international political system and multilateralism, wars of the 21st century, Latin America and the Caribbean as a geopolitical space and the internal politics of the United States.

Other issues of relevant analysis are the imperialist reconfiguration and dominion over South America and the cooperation and economic complementarity of the Community of Latin American and Caribbean States to face current challenges.

Several experts analyzed in panels the use of disinformation as an instrument of unconventional warfare, with emphasis on the case of Venezuela; and strategies for the development and integration of the region.

As part of the seminar, organized at the Raul Roa Higher Institute of International Relations, in Havana, the books “Estados Unidos vs. Nuestra America. El gobierno de Barack Obama (2009-2017)” (United States vs. Our America. The government of Barack Obama (2009-2017)), by doctor in Sciences Luis Suarez; and “La política de la Union Europea hacia Cuba: construcción, inmovilismo y cambio (1988-2017)” (The policy of the European Union towards Cuba: construction, immobilism and change (1988-2017)), by researcher Eduardo Perera, were published.
