Havana, May 30 (Prensa Latina) Four people have so far died in Cuba due to heavy rains associated with subtropical storm Alberto, Interior Minister Julio Cesar Gandarilla said during a meeting chaired by President Miguel Diaz-Canel.
According to the official, the four victims, two in the province of Ciego de Avila, one in Villa Clara and another in Sancti Spiritus, died due to imprudences they commited.
Gandarilla stated that the forces of the Ministry of the Interior were mobilized in the damaged territories to protect order and security.
The properties are protected in the evacuated places and no relevant crimes or vandalism are reported to date.
President Diaz-Canel insisted during the meeting that citizen security should be prioritized in the affected areas and they should be provided with food and medical attention.
