Caracas, Apr 23 (Prensa Latina) President Nicolas Maduro said today that Venezuela and Cuba will strengthen ties to boost joint efforts in the development of health, education, sports and economy.
During a press conference in the state of Bolivar, Maduro said that he arrived in Venezuela yesterday after a visit to Cuba, where he held talks with his Cuban counterpart, Miguel Diaz-Canel.
Maduro noted that the two parties reviewed in depth the cooperation agreements in the fields of education, health, sports and economy, seeking to foster mutual development for the next 10 years in the framework of the Bolivarian Alliance for the Peoples of Our Americas-Trade Teaty of the Peoples (ALBA-TCP).
Maduro stressed that the visit was fruitful and that the two countries are moving forward in a process of revitalizing their ties based on dignity, independence and sovereignty.
The Venezuelan president arrived on Friday night in Cuba, where he had a full working agenda aimed at strengthening ties between the two governments and peoples, while boosting integration and well-being of the two peoples.
