Draft Constitution at the Center of Debates at Cuban Parliament

Havana, Dec 1 (Prensa Latina) The National Assembly (Parliament) of Cuba has been summoned for December 21 to a regular session, which will have as a central topic to approve the draft of the new constitution, Granma newspaper reported on Saturday.

The official announcement to this second regular session corresponding to the 9th Legislature takes place after the text of the draft constitution was submitted to popular consultation from August 13 to November 15.

Prior to the meeting of the National Assembly in the central hall of the Havana Conference Center, the Permanent Working Commissions of the Cuban legislature will dedicate December 16, 17, 18, 19 and 20 to the study of the Project.

According to the plan, after receiving the approval certificate from the Cuban legislative body, the text of the future Magna Carta of the Republic will be submitted on February 24 to a popular referendum for confirmation.
