Diaz-Canel Meets with Cuban Officials and Students in China

Beijing, Nov 7 (Prensa Latina) President Miguel Diaz-Canel met on Wednesday with the members of the Cuban Embassy and students in China, and stressed the importance of their work for bilateral ties and the development of the Caribbean island.

The meeting took place in a pleasant atmosphere and the president was interested in the living conditions and attention provided to the Cuban students.

Several of them explained their different university studies and expressed gratitude for the possibility offered by the Cuban Revolution to study in China.

Diaz-Canel recalled that those scholarships are the result of Cuba-China cooperation and are relevant because they expand opportunities for human resource training and, consequently, will ensure better prepared personnel to materialize national development plans.

He also learned about the work done here by the Cuban diplomatic mission, companies such as BioCubaFarma and the existing potential to further consolidate Cuba’s position in this market.

The president was accopanied by the Council of Ministers Vice President Ricardo Cabrisas, Foreign Minister Bruno Rodriguez, and Deputy Foreign Minister Rogelio Sierra. The delegation also includes Energy and Mines Minister Raul Garcia Barreiro; IT and Communications Minister Jorge Luis Perdomo and Cuban Ambassador to China Miguel Angel Ramirez.
