The Center for Economic and Policy Research (CEPR) recently published a reportexamining the consequences of US sanctions on Venezuela. The report argues that sanctions have been responsible for 40,000 deaths since 2017, with hundreds of thousands more at risk, and that they have also been decisive in the decline of Venezuela’s oil output.

Addressing criticisms from Guaido’s economic advisors, CEPR co-director Mark Weisbrot, co-author of the report, likened the denial of the deadly effects of sanctions to climate change denial.Source:The Real News Network
