HAVANA, Cuba, Mar 20 (acn) With the piece Amigas, the Cuban Lizt Alfonso Ballet Company carried out 14 presentations in some 10 cities of Canada, as part of a tour of that country in February.

The piece, performed for the first time in that territory, was presented at the Wilfrid-Pelletier Hall of the emblematic Palace des Art de Montreal, with a capacity for 3,000 people, the day before Saint Valentine’s Day.

Likewise, as informed on Thursday in a press conference by Lizt Alfonso, artistic director and founder of the company, performances in the city of Markham were dedicated to the upcoming Pan-American Games, to he held this summer in Toronto.

Amigas was premiered at the Thalia Theater of Hamburg, in Germany, in 2007, while in Cuba it has been presented at Havana’s Karl Marx Theater, as well as in the main coliseums of Santiago de Cuba, Holguin and Cienfuegos.
