Havana,Jun 7.- Cuban pianist Frank Fernandez and the singer-songwriter Silvio Rodriguez will share the stage today to pay an old debt.The union of these giants of the composition is not surprising as they have played together in more than one occasion, but playing in their hometowns was a longing that they planned to fulfill together, as good friends.
For this impluse of solidarity and affection, they will perform the upcoming June 7 in the town of Mayari, north zone in the eastern province of Holguin, where the virtuous concert pianist later trained at the Tchaikovsky Conservatory in Moscow, Russia was born.
The musicians will also give a concert in Nicaro, cradle of Cuban nickel, located within the municipality of Mayari, on June 10.
The clarinetist and flutist Niurka González will join the talents of Fernandez and Rodriguez, who has been honored with awards inside and outside Cuba.
The guitarist and poet will continue the tour in other parts of the province, while the pianist will travel to the capital of Holguin in order to give a concert on June 14 to celebrate his 70 years, 55 of artistic life and 75 after the creation of Eddy Suñol Theatre.
Fernandez and Rodriguez agreed to perform soon in San Antonio de los Baños, a city of the current province of Artemisa, located southwest of Havana, as it is the place where the guitarist, a great exponent of the Cuban Nueva Trova movement, was born. (Prensa Latina).
