Cuban tourism grew 17.3 percent in 2015

La%20Habana[1]HAVANA, Cuba, Jan 14 (acn) Cuba reported an outstanding growth in the number of tourists in 2015, when over 3.5 million foreigners visited the island nation, according to a report issue by Professor Jose Luis Perello.

In 2014. Cuba passed the 3 million visitor barrier for the first time in its history, then the 521 thousand more tourists in 2015 represents a 17.3 percent increase compared to the previous period.

Canada was ratified as the main source of visitors to Cuba with 1.3 million Canadians travelling south, but the fastest growing market is the United States, with 161 thousand, for a 76.6 percent growth, following the easing of restrictions by the Obama administration.

Now the US is the third largest market, only trailing Canada and Germany, with the UK and France behind, two countries that experienced growth of 25.4 and 33.6 percent increase, respectively.
