Sancti Spíritus, Cuba, Apr 6 (Prensa Latina) International exchange grows, even with the United States, based on the quality of the Cuban education system, stated José Ramón Saborido, Minister of Higher Education, in this central city of the country.
In statements to Prensa Latina, he pointed out that despite the economic, commercial and financial blockade imposed by the U.S. government against Cuba, very high numbers of professors exchange experiences with their counterparts from other nations.
They also participate in important international meetings, he added.
We are at a time when we change processes and try to introduce others so that quality prevails in all of them, he said.
Quality, therefore, should be the pattern that predominates in our universities, to achieve recognition, he said.
We move forward in the midst of economic difficulties and despite the blockade, because we are an activity prioritized by the country, he affirmed.
Saborido explained that some facilities were recovered, while equipment and materials for laboratories were acquired, to name a few examples.
Four universities in Cuba hold the highest category of Excellence: those of the East, Havana, Las Villas and the Technological of Havana José Antonio Echeverría, the minister pointed out.
