Cuban cyclists to compete in Australia

Jan 14 (Radio Rebelde) Cuban cyclists Arlenis Sierra and Yeima Torres will be part of the Astana Women´s Team roster at the start of the world season, with four competitions in Australia, where Sierra, captain of the club, shone in 2019.

For the second year in a row, the Astana women’s team season will begin in Australia, but this time it will be a four-week trip, the Kazakh-Italian club announced in a press release.

The itinerary will begin in Adelaide, with the participation in the Santos Women’s Tour Down Under, to then also attend the recently created Race Torquay; the Cadel Evans Great Ocean Road Race, inaugural event of the UCI Women´s World Tour, and the Blackburn Herald Sun Tour.

The squad coaches have selected six runners for these races, led by Sierra, who was the champion of the Cadel Evans Great Ocean Road Race in 2019.

She will be accompanied this time by her countrywoman Torres, Mexican Yareli Salazar, Ukrainian Marina Ivanyuk and Italians Francesca Pattaro and Katia Ragusa.
