Cuba-Health 2018 Convention Ends Today

Havana, Apr 27 (Prensa Latina) The 3rd International Convention, Cuba-Salud 2018, ends today after five days of reflection on universal health for sustainable development, in the presence of Director General of WHO, Tedros Adhanom.

Before closing the important scientific forum, in a plenary session led by Cuban Deputy Health Minister Alfredo Gonzalez, will discused the issue of Human capital formation, research and innovation in health.

Cuba-Health 2008, which welcomes more than 2,500 delegates from 93 countries until today, is also celebrated with the assistance of the director of the Pan-American Health Organization, Carissa Etienne, who participated in the opening ceremony of the 16th Vaccination Week in Las Americas.

In an outstanding speech, the WHO director general presented the main work projections of the institution, focused on universal health coverage from a joint work with primary care.

This is the main focus of our work. The basis of everything is primary care, health should go to the communities and not vice versa, Adhanom responded to a question from Prensa Latina.

Cuba is the best example, model, to show what is done for the health for all and the WHO believes that this country has much to offer, he said in the context of a meeting with the media staff accredited at the Havana’s Convention Center.

The scientific program of the forum includes lectures, symposia, panels, roundtable discussions, colloquiums, free issues and several meetings.

The 14th Trade Fair Health for All takes place at Pabexpo fairgrounds parallel to the forum, considered the major commercial event in the sector, with the assistance of 32 countries and more than 180 companies.
