CUBA: GUANTANAMO TO BECOME WORLD CITY OF PEACE

worldGUANTANAMO (Cuba), Oct 2 (NNN-Prensa Latina) — Guantanamo will be a world city of peace when more than 100 activists and fighters gather here in November to call for global peace, said sources.

“From November 20 to 25, Guantanamo will host a meeting of the World Council for Peace and the 4th International Peace Seminar for the Abolition of Foreign Military Bases”, said Jose Francisco Sierra, member of the peace movement in Cuba.

“At least 35 representatives of the Council and 50 activists from the United States, Canada, Italy, Puerto Rico, Chile, Brazil, Turkey, Palestine and Belgium have confirmed their participation at both events, which will set out and denounce the extreme situation of violence affecting the world”, said Sierra.

On Nov 20 and 21 the meeting of the World Council will be held for the first time outside Havana, while the seminar for the abolition of foreign military bases will be held from Nov 23 to 25 at the Mariana Grajales plaza in this city. — NNN-PRENSA LATINA
