Buenos Aires, Apr 14 (Prensa Latina) The Argentinean Solidarity with Cuba Movement (MasCuba) expressed its support for the civil society delegation that represents the Caribbean island at the 8th Summit of the Americas in Lima, Peru.
In a statement, MasCuba rejected the aggressions by the secretary general of the Organization of American States (OAS), Luis Almagro, and the efforts by the so-called Lima Group to destabilize the progressive governments in the region, especially in Cuba, Venezuela and Bolivia, ‘showing a servile attitude to the U.S. empire and its objective to recolonize Our Americas.’
They also repudiated the exclusion of Venezuela from the Summit, as well as the invitation ‘to mercenaries and terrorists who claim to be the representatives of Cuban society, demonstrating to organizers, once again, their clear antidemocratic, divisive attitude and open alignment with Washington’s interests.’
The Argentina-Cuba solidarity groups also expressed their support for the Cuban people, their Revolution, their government and political leadership, ‘an example of dignity and patriotism.’
In the text, they also demanded the lifting of the genocidal economic, commercial and financial blockade imposed by the United States on the island for almost 60 years.
‘Cuba is respected, do not mess with Cuba,’ concludes the statement, signed by the Argentinean Solidarity with Cuba Movement-Regional Buenos Aires-La Pampa.
