Havana, May 7 (Prensa Latina) The president of the Cuban Association of the United Nations (ACNU), Fermín Quiñones, stated today in this capital that sustainable development depends on peace.
Participating at the panel Implementing the 2030 Agenda: Sustainable development with equality, Quiñones pointed out Cuba’s main objectives for that period and its support for international cooperation from civil societies.
The debate was part of the 37th session of the Economic Commission for Latin America and the Caribbean (ECLAC).
‘The program aimed at sustainable development until 2030 shows an integrating and indivisible character, based on respect for national policies and priorities for permanent coordination with the various social actors,’ the Cuban official added.
For his part, the Officer in charge of the ECLAC Secretariat, Luis Fidel Yáñez, highlighted that the agenda for that stage is marked by deep transformations and ‘a set of wills around integration’ .
